Knowing that Skynyrd has been my all time favorite band since the release of "Second Helping" in the '70's a very far left leaning family member set me a link, including a video stating the band's decision to "stand with the president". I'm sorry but I'm not buying this BS. I can't help but feel there is more behind this announcement than what is being said. I have followed the band...not just the music, the band, it's history, etc. for several decades. The current state of the union, the agendas on the table, the whole ball of wax has never in the past been what the band has stood for. I know how much the band supports the troops and at the inaugurall ball/festivities, you performed in honor of a salute to the service members. I have to wonder...was the band forced to say that you "Stand behind the president" in order to perform at this event? I have been stewing over this for months. I just can't believe the entire band (or at least the 3 of you that spoke on the video) have changed your way of thinking. It really leave me with a sour taste. I make it a point to attend at least one show each year (with a group of fellow fans) I get notifications to pre sales and am always right on getiing my tix to ensure I am up close with my beloved Skynyrd. I'm from Maryland and several weeks ago I received the concert announcement for my area and ticket sale date for presale. I have not yet ordered tickets. I sent the link to my group regarding the upcoming show. For the very first time ever, none of them showed an interest in attending. I'm not saying or threatening to boycott. What I AM saying is I know the experience will not be the same for me and I'm not sure I can sit thru a show knowing the band has conformed.

The show at Jiffy Lube Pavillion was awesome last nite. I love it when the band tours with .38 Special. Bret Micheal's rocked! Seems to have recovered well from his recent health conditions. Many prayers were sent up for him. During the show, Johnny announced an upcoming "Tribute To The troops" tour. I was wondering when the kick-off date will be? I'll be seeing my all time fav band at the Delaware State Fair July 26. I know the band always pays tribute to the troops at every show but it would be extra special if this date were included in the tribute tour since I'll be taking my son, who is serving in the Army Reserves. Fingers crossed that this date is on the tour.
