Just made a trip to Fla took me 21 hours went to a little town called Indiantown sets 40 miles west of W Palm Beach. The farmer I work for sent me down for 6 months to learn about cabbage, lettuce, and spinach. The record if it is one I listen to Last of a Dyin' Breed the entire trip its what I do when a new Skynyrd album is release. Love the album many of the songs have a very deep meaning to me. Wont go into detail on all that but one I Had a Good Teacher, just lost Uncle Wayne he had a good life and the opening verse to this song was uncle Wayne he taught me how to split wood with a double bladed ax, Ive seen him split wood with a that ax that a wood splitter couldnt split. My favorite memory is this " You boys think your getting away with something, but I know alot of people in this town. Love the band past and present Love the music past and present HAPPY TURKEY DAY to all in the nation and God bless are Vets.
Dont want to get to long winded on my life story but yall that have seen my previous posts will understand for yall that have not I only have access to a computer once in awhile. This is my story for Last of a Dyin' Breed. It started with finding out about the album about two weeks before it was released, then had to wait until payday to get my copy people probably thought I was crazy has I stood in the record shop listen to the album on those little machines they got now days with tears running down my face. Had to check out in the storie my truck didnt have a radio. Went staight to local junk yard and 10 dollars some fuses and a little wiring and back speakers and I was rocking. Love the album the boy always write songs that hit home for me. Heading of the radar back to the simple life until next time your friend in Skynyrd Nation, Leonard_50
Its been a great ride but its coming to the end, Ive had access to a computer for two weeks and have enjoyed getting caught up with whats going on in Skynyrd Nation. Excited with a new album coming and the boys coming to Michigan in July. I leave yall with this, lost mom year ago March 16th but just like the band I love has suffered so much loss you learn to move on and continue the legacy that your family started. In closing, to the loyal fans lets Rock this place they call it Skynyrd Nation, to the critics whats your resume. Your friend in southern rock Leonard_50
Doc Waston passed Tuesday May 29,2012 one of the greatest acoustic guitart pickers of all times.
Working part time farming this spring I was planting soybeans. I had never done this before and the guy I was working for told me if everything goes well you can plant 50 acres a day, the drill is 15 feet wide. The tractor had a cd player but I had not tried using in fear of screwing up my cds. This day I was in a 108 acre field with long rows so I put God and Guns in and never skipped a beat, listened to it all day and planted 65 acres a new record for this farm. For all you wondering how this relates to Lynyrd Skynyrd for me this is living the Simple Life. I use to make 70000 a yr as a qaulity manager gave it up to for maybe 30000 a yr and ride in tractor play in the dirt and mud get oil and grease stained hands watch wild turkey and deer all day and work 5 to 9 instead of 9 to 5.
