@Goldie7 Hi Skynyrd fans everywhere.. I got my "last of a dyin breed".........and badge (pin) that i put on my old dads working mans cap!..(he passed away in 2008..was 89 & listened to skynyrd aswell as ,eric clapton..rory gallagher.neil young..& other types of music too he was a great musician & person)...thanks for the badge (skynyrd...i know its aimed at younger fans!..but makes me smile seeing it on my 53 year old teddy bears head...on my dads cap)
Anyway...when i opened my cd pack...i was acting like a teenager who'd won the lottery!.
the cd's really great (just hope its not..."last of a dyin breed" )..But ...that poster..brought the whole skynyrd story back to me (no not read book yet...the pics say it all)it was like holding ...& i guess holding on( for Ronnie & all of the Skynyrd band members that have been part of our lives.i say holding on..as ive had end stage liver disease since 2009 with all that comes with it...strokes...loss of arm /hand..( i was told i would never regain...& I DID...1 yr after.)And in theory ..i shouldn't have lived longer than 3 months after diagnosis. Plus the fact ive had sick lungs since childhood.
i'm sorry to ramble & don't please ..think i want sympathy!
I feel so HAPPY to be alive & still rockin to skynyrd & (other bands of course)
Looking at Ronnies twinkling eyes on the poster...yep its on my wall like a 15 year olds!!!!!
I just want to say "THANK YOU" to the band...for picking yourselves up, after all of the losses you have had as a band.I hope you never feel it's time to stop playing /touring.But if you do...maybe your families can start up playing skynyrd esque music...lol!.
