Here is what he posted tonight. He sounds rather pumped, and ready to be part of Skynyrd Nation.

Hello, How the Hell are ya Skynyrd Nation!
I am sending LOVE........
I would also like to send the love to all the Black Crowes & Train & Supernova peeps who have come over to the Nation with me.
...
Less than 20 minutes ago I was on stage in Baltimore. I was doing my best make Leon and the Skynyrd nation proud that I was the bands new member. When I looked to my right, I was staring at Gary Rossington (that can make it hard to play because I just want to stop and listen to his guitar playing). When I looked up, their were dozens of die hard Skynryd fans giving me the high sign. A sign approving me as the man to slip into Leon’s shoes.
Baltimore, you are simply incredible.....
It is an Honor to be playing in one of my all time favorite bands. A band that had an enormous impact on my becoming a musician and my ideas about life.
I am a life long southerner. I am the only member of the Black Crowes, who after having success did not move away from my home in the south. Remember this is the band that created ‘Southern Harmony and Musical Companion’. SHMC is a record that I think is brilliant and gives feeling to the intangible greatness of the red mud of Georgia.
The Bands departure for the west was a turncoat move against possibly the most influential musical statement of the time. A paramount statement the band would not be able to repeat. I could not walk away. I refused to conform, follow or comply. That stance would eventually lead to being on my own.
Many years later, Many Bands later, Multiple Carriers later, I find myself reaping the rewards of tough decisions and risks taken. I stand in Baltimore experiencing gains that were hard fought and won.
Today Baltimore, I am a member of Lynyrd Fuckin Skynyrd.
We've just been made aware of exactly how serious Mike's illness is, and I would like to ask you all to send him positive thoughts and prayers.
I just got off the phone with Deb who informed me that Thursday evening he had an episode where he had a suspected heart attack, quit breathing completely and actually flat-lined. The paramedics were able to revive him and took him off to the local hospital. After the battery of tests it has been determined that he indeed had a heart attack which caused damage to the top part of his heart. He'd had a prior attack which damaged the lower part, now with this new damage it becomes necessary to do an angiogram on Monday. The results of that will be either stents or open heart surgery. Deb is holding up well under the circumstances, but she wanted ya'll to know what was happening. Mike says he's "not a freebird just yet", so he's still holding his sense of humor.
If you would like to send him a word or two of encouragement, I will copy them and get them to Deb to give to Mike. I'm sure he would enjoy hearing from his family...the Skynyrd Nation!
