Maybe I am last to know about this but I was in Wal-Mart today (Philadelphia area), looking at some phillies gear and out of the blue, I see a got damn SKYNYRD T SHIRT.....There were two different styles, they also had ac/dc, the rolling stones, pink floyd, the beatles......I obviously bought one ($9.00) and it is pretty cool. Just wanted to give you guys the heads up if any of you visit Wal-Mart in the near future.

I have just met with a movie production company and their lawyers about a major motion picture about Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie Van Zant and my life. This will be a complete account of Ronnie Van Zant and
myself from 1952 until his death in 1977. This movie will also include a complete history of the real Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. Mitch Simmons owner of Neon Leon’s helped organize and bring all parties together. Hopefully this movie will be in theatres in 12-18 months. I have the contract in my hand.

Stay tuned for all the updates as we will be having several functions at Neon Leon’s promoting this wonderful event.

Maybe this was brought up on this msg board previously, But I could not find the thread, any way; What is everyones thoughts on this and has anyone heard about this project taking steps forwards. I surely hope that it isnt bullshit. A movie would be something to definitely look forward too.

Thoughts/Comments/Input............to the nation, stay frosty.....mississippi kid

Weather: Perfect, alil hot. High 80's - High Humidity.
Atmosphere: ELECTRIC ...Plenty of food vendors, drinks (Yuengling & Miller lite), Mixed drink tent. Concert was along the Lehigh River. Seating areas were as follows: VIP, Reserved & Lawn. Folks from all walks of life, young & old. Many good looking women.

Pre Show: The local rock station had on some promotional stuff along with rock mixed. The DJ was getting the crowd amped up with about 15 minutes before the show started. To fire up the crowd, they played some AC/DC & Jimi Hendrix (All along the watchtower).

Show: Stage lights the "LYNYRD SKYNYRD" BANNER and the crowd goes into a frenzy. Open the show with Workin for MCA followed by I AINT THE ONE, THEN, WHATS YOUR NAME. Then it was on to Skynyrd Nation, THIS AINT MY AMERICA. At this point, the crowd is yearning for the classics. LS Goes into THAT SMELL. After THAT SMELL, Johnny puts on a baseball hat backwards that says "Sheriff" across the back and asked the crowd to give a holler for all our troops, He then says, " that this song, is for everyone across seas and around the world for our freedom" so everyone is thinking that they are going to play red,white,& blue BUT NO, They play SIMPLE MAN, and crowd goes wild. SIDENOTE: At this point, im sweating my ass off from singing and playing air guitar. After SIMPLE MAN, they rock GIMME BACK MY BULLETS, TUESDAYS GONE, GIMME THREE STEPS ,SWEET HOME ALABAMA AND FOR THE GRAND FINALE FREE BIRD....

Overall: Would I go to another LS concert? You bet your ass, it was worth every penny. As a whole the band showed no signs of age nor wear and tear. There performance was explosive. One member of the band really stood out and that was Ricky........Ricky was playing the guitar with his teeth, downs on his knees. The guy was plain and simple: on fire. Their whole set was great, the crowd was into it. It will be my first of many, Lord Willing.

GOOD EVENING YALL......Welp, it is finally here....Tomorrow I will be the voice of all my skynyrd nation brothers & sisters. My mother who is life long fan will be joining me for this epic concert. Taking a half day from work should allow plenty of time for some pre-festival activities. The essentials are packed....I will be snapping plenty of pictures and they will be posted. LOOKING FOR A GOOD READ ABOUT THE BAND. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN ABOUT THE BAND THAT ARENT FULL OF FICTIONAL TALES BUT ACTUALLY RAW TRUTH AND INTERESTING STORIES. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
