Saw them in1974, and 1976 , but my fav memory was when I met Lacy, Johnny(when he was the Austin Nichols band ) and EC Van zant when I was working for Prefomance Printing off of Blanding Blvd. James Sweat and I printed the posters for a concert in Fernandina Beach , Lacy was a real Southern gentleman witha little redneck in there , and he got into this deep discussion with the Dog show lady about God and Jesus, ( we printed her books ) but what a class act, thats when people in Jax would just stop and talk FOREVER something missing these days , The 74 concert me and my buddies from Englewood snuck out to see , it was REO Speedwagon( WHEN THEY WERE A REAL BAND NOT THAT 80s crap you hear now ) JO JO Gunne, and LYNYRD SKYNYRD All for 5 DOLLARS!!!! The 76 show was Atlanta Rymthm Section and LYNYRD SKYNYRD, I remember that show (My ears were ringing) and because They played "Cry for the bad man" and me and my sister were walkin around the house singin it for days . One question I did ask Lacy was whats up with the name for "Gimme back my bullets" and he said that one of the band members either shot Ronnies gun into a swimming pool or pond and Ronnie took his gun and said Gimme back my bullets !
