The Golden Moon casino at the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, Mississippi, has just listed a Skynyrd concert on their website for March 12, 2011. Tickets have not gone on sale yet. The Golden Moon has just recently transformed part of the hotel into a new concert space that is supposed to be really nice. The first show at the new arena is this weekend.

Is anyone planning on making the trip to Fort Walton Beach for the special Skynyrd show called "Rock the Beach" on Sunday, August 15th? This is a free event - all you have to do is show up! Josh Thompson is the opening act. This is a follow-up event to the massive Jimmy Buffett concert that was held in Gulf Shores a few weeks ago.

I bought the new Skynyrd tribute album on my lunch break today. For the initial release, it's only being sold through Wal-Mart (and I assume Sam's Club as well). It's an eight-song EP that features various newer, but popular country artists. Eric Church covers "Curtis Loew", Jamey Johnson covers "Four Walls of Raiford", and Randy Houser covers "Simple Man" - just to name a few. Eric Church is my favorite country artist, so maybe he'll begin adding "Curtis Loew" to his concert setlist this summer and fall; he already puts on a kick ass live show and this would make it even better.

With Bret being so popular right now (Celebrity Apprentice winner, Oprah appearance, etc.), I would think that this will have a tremendous effect on ticket sales for the God & Guns Tour. Assuming he's able to perform, of course.

I don't see it listed yet on this website, but Live Nation is now selling tickets for the Skynyrd concert at the Gibson Amphitheatre on August 26th out in Los Angeles. I'm supposed to be out there that week, so I'll probably grab a ticket. I've been to a concert at this venue before (Pearl Jam) and it's pretty nice. It's actually an indoor amphitheatre which is different.
