they have re-mixed and remastered the new version to the point where it is not the same album as the 1976 original release.
Believe me I listened to this album so many times growing up that my brain is synced to every note on it, and when I heard the "new version" it just was not the same, they have added, taken away, and adjusted it way to much. It is not the same album I listened to hundreds of times with my headphones on as a kid during middle school and high school, and grew to love.
has anybody else noticed the differences?
This was my favorite record while growing up.
I used to listen to it with headphones on every night when I laid down for the night, did that for a long time. This is when I fell in love with their music, this album means a lot to me as far as the memories go. I couldn't tell you how many times I have told people how great this album is and urged them to listen to it with headphones on.
I love how the lead guitars are separated on the right and left channels.
anyway I got it for $7.99 it has a few scratches but it is in very good condition, brings back a lot of memories looking at the cover and opening it up and looking at the graffiti on the inside and reading the words.
I started a facebook group to make Skynyrd fans aware that the Gimme Back My Bullets album remains the only pre-crash album not to have achieved platinum status as of yet. (it is a Gold record though)
We all need to get the word out on this and make it happen sooner rather than later.
I have recently bought a copy, which will be the 3rd copy I have bought, I had the original 33LP, and bought a CD back in the 80s, so this is my first copy with the added material. Legit MP3 downloads count too.
If anybody wants to join the group message me, start your own group, or start something going in here; I don't care as long as we can do a small part in making music history by giving this classic album it's due.
I have no idea how many more copies need to be bought, I just know it has sold between 500,000 which makes it a gold record, and 1 million copies. It needs to get above 1 million copies sold to make it PLATINUM.
My favorite band since the 70s
