Kings of Southern Rock Lynyrd Skynyrd join with King of Reality TV Bret Michaels and 38 Special for 2010 Concert Tour!!!

The Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida will be the first stop on a multi-city tour with legendary artists Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bret Michaels with guests 38 Special. The following shows have been scheduled at this point. 38 Special will be appearing on the bill for most of these shows as well but at this time I do not have confirmed dates for those shows. Skynyrd to appear on PBS Soundstage
Lynyrd Skynyrd will appear on the PBS Soundstage series on Feb 18th at 9:00 pm CST. The band will perform their classic songs Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, That Smell, and Simple Man. They will also perform songs from their new album, God & Guns. As we all know a Skynyrd show would not be complete without ending the event with Freebird.

Wentworth Gallery is pleased to present two art exhibitions by legendary drummer and artist Michael Cartellone. He will make two special back-to-back appearances at the Wentworth Galleries in Short Hills, NJ and King of Prussia, PA on June 5 & 6, 2010. The exhibitions will include acrylic paintings and drum-heads, along with limited edition artwork, all for purchase. Guests will have the opportunity to see Mr. Cartellone on both days.

Michael Cartellone attended the Cleveland Institute of Art at the age of four, with his focus set on the Visual Arts. Indeed, Michael intended a career in Visual Arts for the next five years, until that is he began drumming at the age of nine. He completely threw himself into drumming, playing his first professional gig at a bar at the age of eleven, although he never stopped painting. Cartellone continued studying both drumming and painting simultaneously, throughout his grade school and high school years. By the time he graduated high school, Cartellone was performing four nights a week, earning his living as a musician; yet at the same time, he had begun selling his paintings. As Cartellone explains it, "music and art have always been two halves of a whole."
At the age of twenty-two, Cartellone moved to New York City to further his career. He worked in the art department in the garment industry by day, and played the drums by night. It was during this time that he had his first gallery show, at King Street Gallery in the Washington D.C. area. His move to New York City was a true springboard for Cartellone's music career. Before long, he found himself in a new band called "Damn Yankees", which went on to multi-platinum status. Other recording and /or touring credits include: John Fogarty, Cher, Peter Frampton and Freddie Mercury. In 1998, Cartellone joined the legendary Southern Rock Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, where he currently can be seen on tour throughout the world.

FAVORITE MEMORY CONTEST WINNER
Wow, Skynyrd Nation! You guys sure have some incredible Skynyrd memories to share. It wouldn't be fair if we tried to pick a winner for "best memory," so we chose a winner completely at random to win a special Lynyrd Skynyrd prize. Congratulations to our winner, ls-bern!

Winning entry from ls-bern: My favorite memory was year 2000 in Orlando, Florida. I was staying at the Marriott across the street from the arena where Skynyrd and ZZ Top were performing. I had my tickets for the show and went to lounge by the pool that afternoon for some sun and relaxation before the concert that night. There were 3 people hanging out I walked by we said hello to each other. I kept thinking to myself that these people looked familiar to me. I thought it was Johnny VanZant but I wasn't sure. As I listened to the conversation they were having I once again thought they really look like skynyrd members. My husband comes down walks by them says hello, comes and sits by me and says isn't that Ricky Medlocke. I was like OH MY GOD! I thought so too, but I didn't wan't to bug them. We went over and asked and sat down and spent the afternoon by the pool with Johnny, Rickey and Carol. Took some pics and went to our room later on to get ready for the concert. As we were walking in the hotel lobby which was swamped with Fans heading out the door to the concert I heard someone say my name. I turned and looked and the entire band except for Billy Powell were sitting together on a long couch, They remembered my name, waved me over and told me to enjoy the show. The funny part was that they were sitting there watching people walk by who were going to see them and nobody even realized they were there. (and I didn't tell) What a great memory!!!! and I have pics and autographs to keep forever. This is just one of many great memorys I have, but this one will always be extra special to me! There is nothing like a Skynyrd Fan!!!!!! We are all spiritually connected. You Can't explain it, you can only feel it in your heart!

One of our favorite entries from midnightrider: my favorite memory was what ronnie had spoked about though the years,that was education,ronnie was big about getting an education,so myself as i can recall all those words of wisdom he said in his lifetime,so myself i was able to accomplish alot of things,by those words,its funny how one person can make a difference in someones life,and for ronnie to express how he felt about,made me realize that you got to have an education,so thats what i done-------listened to his words --------like it was [he-ronnie]-speaking directly to you about this,so i did,not only that,those words i was able to be inspired to do that for this great man/person/and his love of music that helped me get to where i am today-------with out those words of encourgement i did so,i completed alot of degrees by always remembering the kind words ronnie spoke about,ronnie made a difference in my life for the good----------so i would like to thank ronnie for that,and the music,he gave us----------------heres to you ronnie,so as the years went by not only did what i did about getting an education,but to this day,i help out with those by saying education means alot,and another thing was that i recall ronnie sayin ''everybody wants to be free,like the eagle in the sky'',that was another helpfull thing also,this man[ronnie]has always been a huge impact in my life,and continues to this day,!!!!!!!!!!! thanks
One of our favorite entries from skynyrdalways: Last year at Birmingham England it was my 10 year old sons 1 st Skynyrd gig and we were fortunate enough to be in the front row just left of centre and my son was singing his heart out and was smiled at by Rickey and sparky , then midway through Alabama JVZ beckoned Callum over to the stage came down to him shook his hand ,posed for a photo and said some kind words to him
We were both in tears for the rest of the song .
Fantastic night and they took time out after freebird to sign his flag and give him the set list.
