Valdese, NC – Local musician and bass guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Robert Kearns, presents the Tom Kearns Memorial Blue Christmas Benefit Concert on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at
the Old Rock School in Valdese, NC. Kearns, who has a personal connection to Alzheimer’s says, "This is something that is close to me, because my dad suffered from Alzheimer's during
the last few years of his life". His father, Tom Kearns, suffered a heart attack and died just days away from Thanksgiving in 2009. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and feature local musicians, including: Bobby Denton, The Harris Brothers, Jaret Carter, David Wiseman, Jonathan Birchfield, Laurel Creek and other special guests. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 828-879-2129 or at the door. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s
Association of Western North Carolina.
