Yeah and blood is thicker than water. I have no idea what Ronnie would have wanted, never knew any of the band members, but the Van Zant's seemed very close to their folks and usually that makes for a tight family, so I "think" what they are doing now is just fine and Gary has filled in the pieces well. Folding up the tent after the Tribute Tour would have been a mistake. The only thing that removes the pain is to keep going, respect the original work and build on it. The post-Tribute band records do that. The original band was Led Zepplin and Merle Haggard with a classical pianist. And it worked, but can never be replicated. That doesn't mean Gary and Johnny should play covers in clubs, thats just the way it is. Looking forward to the new record. |

@BigMike07: I think that Skynyrd has put out enough of their own songs since the reunion to carry the show if you throw in a few classics.I know a lot of old timers like me that want to here more of the new music thats why we buy it. I wish they would go way back and play some songs that have not been played in years.Peace Duffy |

When Ean took ill and a benefit concert was being planned Lynyrd Skynyrd could not use the name Lynyrd Skynyrd for a couple reasons. Even Three Doors Down could not be called TDD even thou like Skynyrd every member was there.

=prez. rusty said: AND if you were such a Skynyrd fan...... ya would know that Rickey is an orignal member too!! SO.... do some homework before ya come on here bashin tha boys!! Sorry Rusty, but that just ain't exactly true. Rickey did play with "The One Percent", but never when the band that was called Lynyrd Skynyrd (with Ronnie that is). That may be a technicality to some, but I think it's an important distinction. ________________________________________

Not a story to be proud of I would say. I'd say ask Jakson about it, but sadly, he's gone. ________________________________________
