I am so appalled that on VH1's Top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time countdown Lynyrd Skynyrd was only like number 77! How could such a great and influential band be such a low number on a list like this! You would think VH1 and whoever helped to make the list would know better! It's disgusting... who else was upset when they saw this?!

No 71 is not good enough!! Im serious-some really stupid bands were ahead of them and it hurts to see!

It matters not what other people think of Skynyrd it's all about what they mean to you and the memories you bring back from live shows.
I personally think they are the finest bunch of musicians ever to grace a stage and to me they dont need to be voted number 1 as i know what number they are

I always felt that most bands were jealous of Skynyrd. Also, being from the South, there is a certain amount of dislike. Especially from the North and West coast.

Yea, peers who exactly..obviously people who don't know what they are talking about and the sad part is I have always loved VH1 since i was born so it makes it feel even worse lol After how long they have been together and how good they are/were, it's rude for them to be this low on the list.

It might be due to the fact that skynyrd had such a short career. Just think of what could have been. In just 4 short years they brought us all those classics. Had the plane not went down, I believe they would have made top 5 easy. But then again, it's VH1.

But even when they got back together into what they are now you would think they would have shown through..but when people think of skynyrd they almost always think of the old members together, but I like both equally. I could just imagine what would have been if it wasn't for the plane crash

Mandy, you're young, you'll gyt over it. Start Mandy's top 100 list ryght now and I hope Skynyrd comes in fyrst place!!! Personally I find fave lists are just a good way to start an argument. I don't think we'd argue 1 byt about Skynyrd though darlin'!

RVZ was skynyrd. When the survivors got back together they were paying tribute to the members they lost in the crash. I could be wrong, but the "tribute tour" was only supposed to be a 10 show deal. It was hard for everyone to walk away from the demands from fans for more shows and all the $$ that would be left on the table. The one thing I like about the tribute band is they offer fans from all generations who never got the chance to see the original band. The tribute band hasn't produced the caliber of music that the original line-up did.
