Darn it - I missed the July 1 and July 3 shows, which were _relatively_ close to me.
Maybe I'll plan better next time.

Although most of the members of the premium original lineup have died, from what I can tell, the current version definitely still rocks, and especially since LS is one of my big favorites amongst the classic bands, I do look forward to seeing them at some point.

However, it looks doubtful that I'll be able to squeeze in any of the other summer dates.
As sports fans are inclined to say, "maybe next season". (Does anybody have any ideas on upcoming schedules?)

Also, I have a few general questions:

So, does the current band indeed still rock?

I hear their setlist is of moderate-to-long length – about an hour and a half; I have seen longer shows, although I suppose I can’t expect everybody to go 2+ hours. While ya don’t want a good show to end, does this feel at all like enough Skynyrd?

I’ll admit I’m a Northerner and a liberal. (good music knows no politics or regional boundaries, right?) I’m not sure how well I’ll fit in with the stereotypical Skynyrd crowd, even though I understand a lot of fans don’t fit this mold. (Indeed, I’ll be the first to discuss how LS is a lot more than its initial image.) I suppose I’m worried about a small chance of a few bad apples ruining the barrel. I don’t intend to cause trouble, but I still want to make sure I don’t get into any, ya know?

I didn't mean to push anybody's buttons with that; I understand it's a point of discussion amongst fans.

The membership changes in LS remind me of the Ship Of Theseus paradox - to borrow the phrasing from that, even though some planks have changed, it's still the same vessel.

It seems that according to your logic LS is essentially still the same band, and thus is still very good.

I admit that nostalgia can be suffocating, and it's especially ironic for people like me who weren't around in the original time period. Enjoy it as it is, you know?

I hear where your coming from KingAlani, would have loved to see some members up there ive never gotten a chance to see, and never will. I can only image what it was like to see them back in the 70"s but i wasnt born yet. Fortunatly todays line up keeps the music going, and yes they are a very tight band, the Recordings dont do them justice, you really need to see them live...

King, heard you the first time, that you were a Northerner and a liberal. It seems that you are the only one making an issue of it.

I don't have any issues with the band because of that; I was just wondering if a small segment of the audience gets the wrong idea. (Not the small segment part too. :P)

KingAlanl...... For someone that has only been listening to LS for only a year you should read and learn alittle more before posting some of the stuff your posting. I think you type just to hear your self type !!
