Southern Ways

To me, this songs sounds like old Skynyrd from the 70's more so than any other of the JVZ Skynyrd songs. Its a real good tune, they really did a good job of bringing back thier roots. has a sweet home alabama feel to it. any one else get that same impression?

yeah, it has a laid back feel to it, just like Sweet Home Alabama. and the lyrics have the same idea, just look at how similar the titles are

this album is friggin amazing!!!! i am a southern boy living in the north and "southern ways" brought tears to my eyes. there is not a bad song on there. i see this as "second helping" meets "1991" with a touch of "the last rebel" thrown in for flavor. awesome effort!!

I just LOVE this song. It's one of my favorites on this album!!


I might go out to California might go down to Georgia, I don't know...

It is my favorite also, tied with "God & Guns" and "That Ain't My America". All three of those songs hit home for me 'cause they all describe me and the way I feel about today's political and social climate. I'm the oddball here in CA... hard to find people who feel the same way about life! They are all crazy! Skynyrd has always helped define me and set me apart from these CA hippies. I got a nickname among my friends, "Redneck" it's my first name practically now and I'm proud to have it!

My favorite is on the 2nd CD of the Special Edition, Raining In My Heartland... Gifted Hands is a close second. I really like Southern Ways and Simple Life, too. Hell, there ain't nothing on there I don't like.

All I can say is WOW this CD is awesome Love every track. "That ain't my America" is the best. Rings so true these days. I have even went up to soldiers and thanked them and they do look suprised at first but then they are thankful. They should start playing this on mainstream radio and get the message out.
