will the boys play some of the stuff from the new album in the upcoming concerts? I am going to see Skynyrd in July.I would love to hear some of the new songs live. Not sure if that will happen but I hope it will. |

In a ideal world yeah it would be great, but don't hold your breath.......remember the lat gig you went too and it will be pretty much the same as that (bloody awesome).

I know this will be scrireligious on the site, so let me qualify myself: I am a huge Skynyrd fan. I own every cd they have ever put out live/studio/compilation. I own quite a few tour tshirts and other merchandise as well. I play a Gibson Les Paul because my favorite guitarist (Gary Rossington) plays a Les Paul. I have seen Skynyrd more times that I can count since they reformed at the Volunteer Jam in the early 90's. So I think I am qualified to say this.

the boys play a short concert, they have for years. They should think about adding about 15 more mins to there concert time and sprinkle in a few more newer songs. |

Don't mean to be a party pooper, but I go to hear the real Skynyrd's music! Not much into the new music. Don't really consider it as Skynyrd. To me there is only one Skynyrd and I wish they would play more of that! I'd like to hear T For Texas and On The Hunt and Roll Gypsy Roll and some of the more obscure Skynyrd songs. |

@guitarfan70: My bro-in-law and I were at the Skynyrd concert in Fredericksburg on May 5th, too. I think you got all of their songs down but one...I Know A Little. What a tribute to Steve Gaines for them to still be playing one of his songs all these years after his death. I agree with your observations as to the sound at that particular concert. I've purchased two tickets to see Skynyrd with the Allman Bros Band in Raleigh on August 4th. Since that particular concert is scheduled closer to the release date of their next album, Last of a Dying Breed, I hope that they'll play some of their new tunes as well.

Last night's show in Chester PA was just as guitarfan 70 says. Sure its great to here the 70's stuff but Hello this is a new group of players with at least 5 CD's since the1991 CD. I guest we'll never get to hear any of that stuff live. But the final straw was this group of guys went PC on us. NO STARS AND BARS FOR THE BACK DROP DURING SWEET HOME. I'VE SEEN THE BAND SINCE THE 70'S. Last night's show was my last unless they tour playing the newer stuff as I've seen this current show six or so times. |

I hadn't seen the band since 1994, just after Randall Hall left and just before Ed got sick. I decided to see them at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last Friday. Same set list as 94 except T for Texas out and Skynyrd Nation in. They seem to play two songs (tops) from their most recent record but never from anything else from a JVZ era record. Time to mix up the set list some. |

Stu Bro hit it...exact same set list 20 days later in Indy and very similar to the last time I saw them in 94. |
