My wife and I are going to hear tha boys in concert Saturday night, August 4th in nearby Raleigh. I saw them a few months ago in Frederickburg with my bro-in-law and no matter how many times you crank up tha music from a CD, nothing compares to seeing them live and opening with Workin' for MCA and I Ain't the One and tha crowd goes wild!

I thought the band played a fabulous show!This was the first time I've seen them without Leon and Billy,the new members did a great job filling their shoes.The two new song sounded good and got a nice audience reponse.Gimme Back my Bullets,Whiskey Rock-A-Roller and The Needle & The Spoon medley was the highlight for me.Overall a great set the boys sound tight and polished!

@MtnJam: Wow it has been a while since the last time you saw Skynyrd when Leon and Billy were still around. Thanks for the song line-up for Raleigh. That's the way I remembered it too so it was different from the line-up I heard in Fredericksburg just a few months ago but this time without Workin' For MCA and I Ain't The One. They rocked the place! It looked liked they were having even more fun on the stage this time. Although my wife and I had good seats in the middle, I thought the two big screens were a great addition for close up shots.

My favorite backdrop was the one of the Bald Eagle set in the clouds with the deceased band members first names arranged around the eagle. Ronnie's name was appropriately centered above the eagle's head in the middle. Since I'm retired from the U.S. Air Force, I also liked the backdrop of the military icons during the playing of Simple Man.

I was disappointed that I didn't hear any of their new songs at the Fredericksburg concert so I was hoping for some of the newer stuff. This time in Raleigh it was worth hearing them again so soon. I wasn't disappointed at all and like their new songs, Last Of A Dyin' Breed and One Day At A Time. While my favorite music of theirs will always be pre-crash Skynyrd since it transports me back to much simpler times of growing up in the 1970's South, I'm glad that they continue to put out new music. I think it reinforces Skynyrd's legacy with their past music yet the new songs keep things fresh and something for us to look forward to and enjoy now.
