The Flag that everyone calls racist is a Battle flag it was used to determine where the troops were in ref to the commanders, a call to follow and reform on the Flag, well when its wrapped around the mike or hanging in the back its a call for all of the "Nation" to follow there commanders or their "Nation", we do that. So Fly it proud and your Nation shall follow. I have the 3rd to the last Confederate flag to fly over the SC capitol before their congress voted it off, and would love to have it signed by everyone in the band to hang proud, as it did a few years ago it maybe taken down but it will never be put away it will be right there for all to enjoy! |

Black Oak Arkansas was the first southern band to use a Rebel flag & did a cover of DiXiE.The record company even changed their name to Black oak Arkansas. They did that because they didn't think the band was ready to go nationwide. They were wrong, people liked it,Rock n roll is rebelous music. The "rebel" tag is more to do with teenage rebellion.Skynyrd picked up the flag for second helping & "Sweet Home Alabama". I always took S.H.A. as being ironic,it was an answer to Neil Young's "Southern Man".I took it to mean yeah there is still some bad things going down in the south,BUT,there is still sum good folks making changes & we even have LONG HAIR.Back then having long hair down here in the south could get U killed. As a civil war buff & having kinfolk fight(on both sides) in that war.The civil war is still the bloodest & more people were killed during it than all the other wars since then added together, that is what we need to remember a nation divided shall not stand.
Have U ever been down to the ghetto? Have U ever felt that cold wind blow? If U don't know what I mean, stand up & scream 'cause theres things goin'on U don't know |

=mcskynyrd said:@Seymour Butz: hey!.......... aint you tha dude that wrote that book called............ "Under The Bleachers"? ................. LMAO! Thats funny,no I didn't write no book.but i can see the writing on the wall & it doesn't look good for the working people. The money misers have sent most of our manufactoring jobs overseas. The same people own the companies that owned them when they were here.its just that being overseas they have no regulations to follow. The can use slave labor & pollute the planet.look at the oil companies, for the past 10 years they pay little or NO TAXES.they get goverment grants to 'look" for oil.take the problem in the gulf.Does anyone really think that they put the oil pumped in the gulf in a 'special" barell that says "MADE IN THE USA?"...even IF they did the oil pumped from the deep water horizion would not be included, that rig is 50 miles out in the gulf(International waters) If the powers that be are really against illegal immigration all they need to do is ENFORCE the laws already on the books. They should start with a big fine & mandatory jail time for the companies using illegal labor.Stop the jobs & they will stop coming.Instead we have chaos & a bunch of cheap talk from the same ole bunch of lame poilitians. The same bunch that got us into this mess to start with!!! Rep & Dems are the same monster,I was for mccain in 2000 until he rolled over for Bush.McCain is also playing poiliTRICKS with the border. It is really quite simple, bring our troops home from iraq & let them guard our border.Enforce the laws already on the books concearning immigration. They have worked for over 200 years. The people playing with the laws & submiting 'new" laws are grandstanding.BOTH PARTIES are after the Latino vote. That voting block may well determine the 2012 election.FWIW i'm neither dem or repug I'm AMERICAN Have U ever been down to the ghetto? Have U ever felt that cold wind blow? If U don't know what I mean, stand up & scream 'cause theres things goin'on U don't know |

Yeah, Mr. Butz, I agree that some people have ulterior motives in stirring up trouble amongst other people.
