Rockin' Park 2010

Hey people, hows it going?

First off let me introduce myself: I'm Dennis, a Christian guy from the Netherlands (a very liberal, socialist & atheïst country in Europe... hate it) and a huge southern rock fan. Had been lurking around the site a little and decided to register.

Now i'm not a big festival kind of type, but here in the Netherlands we have this festival called Rockin' Park. So far, only Pearl Jam has been announced, and i already got my ticket. I was hoping for other good bands, and since Lynyrd Skynyrd has no tour dates in the Netherlands as of yet, i thought it'd be worth a shot making a request (kinda) on these boards! Because, like my grandpa used to say: "if you don't shoot you'll always miss".

It'd be real awesome if they could perform at that festival. So far i've only been to metal festivals and metal concerts and i kind of grew tired of it... my passion lys with Blues, Country and Southern Rock.


skynyrd shouldn't be with roadrunner, roadrunner doesn't deserve them!

Welcome petmyhat ! Yes, the band couldn't find Belgium or the Netherlands when they toured Europe this year. I'm sometimes in Belgium and sometimes in France, so I had the chance to see them in Paris. On the new announced 2010 Tour, I don't see any space to add dates close to us. They did the Arrowrock Festival in 2006. When is the Rockin' Park Festival ? By the way, your musical taste-switch is a good one ! You 'll grow old with it !

Rockin' Park Festival is in June, and since the Arrow Rock radio station went bankrupt i doubt there'll be an Arrow Rock festival. Haha i'm only 18, so i still got a long time 'till i reach my 50's, but i do hope music like this will still be around by then. It's alot more fun to play on guitar or listen to on the road than metal or any kind of modern rock. I'm a laid back fellow, and even though i like going to a metal show every now and then with some friends, southern rock, blues, country and such suits me more and keeps me alot happier :D

Welcome to the board!
My New Years wish for you is that you git to see Skynyrd live!
Everyone should at least git to see Skynyrd live at least once in their lifetyme!
