Question regarding a song...
September 09, 2012 1:05:45 PM UTC Post #1

Now, I know a great deal of Skynyrd knowledge, but I am curious on this.

The description said it was Ronnie's favorite song, and another poster made a comment that it was the only song played at his funeral.

Does anyone have any information regarding this?

I've always heard that Pretty Country Song was Ronnie's Favorite. Charlie Daniels
Covered the Song on "Super Jam One" ..IF you can find it-give it a listen...
The rumor I heard, was that Ronnie was going to record that Song.Possibly even do a Album of Country Songs.
He sure did love Brother Merle , for sure. I don't know if it was played at his Funeral, though.

I know Charlie Daniels sang "AMAZING GRACE" at Ronnies funeral, but i don`t know what other songs/hymns were sung & there has been mentions in books of Ronnie wanting to do a country album with Merle Haggard as he was a big fan.

I've heard that "I Take A Lot of Pride in What I Am" by Merle Haggard was played as he was buried, but I don't have 100% certainty on that. I know he was a big Merle fan and to him and Merle grace the mic would have been out of this world.

I just didn't know the answer to this question, so I thought I'd come to my fellow members of Skynyrd Nation and ask y'all

=o)

Yeah. But I don't know the validity of that statement, hence why I came to you all. I figure one of you would know.
