End Of Year Poll 2009 Results
BEST ALBUM OF 2009
1. Joe Bonamassa - The Ballad Of John Henry
In a year of great albums this one really did stand out. From the opening refrain of the opening track to the final languid outro, John Henry is Joe Bonamassa's crowning glory. Its melting pot of contemporary blues, soul, and rock combined to such stunning effect that it is one of those rare records that you could happily, and without irony, describe as timeless. 17% of you voted this your favourite album of the year.
2. Lynyrd Skynyrd - God & Guns
3. Chickenfoot - Chickenfoot
4. Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know
5. Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
BACK WITH A BANG IN 2009
1. Lynyrd Skynyrd
Skynyrd haven't ventured this way in recent years, so when they played a sold out handful of dates and THEN had the audacity to release a fantastic new album we were a little shocked to say the least. The band have successfully reinvented themselves as a truly great modern rock band without needing to rest on their laurels. A third of you agreed that Skynyrd deserved the Comeback Of The Year award.
2. ZZ Top
3. KISS
4. Mott The Hoople
5. Europe
