@RossingtonRules: Hey RR, I totally agree! Plus if it was his hat, a real skynyrd fan would just treasure it and PUT IT IN A BOX. |

Well, to me, something does not ring true about how he got the Hat-even if it IS one of Ronnie's,why is the Guy Wearing it?

Texas Hatters, The Manufacturer of the hat, confirmed a couple weeks ago that it is in fact Ronnies Hat. I believed him from the start because Ronnie Van Zant was made into the hat. Also the backstage pass he had was August, 29th 1977. I looked at the date on my records and indeed that show was in Las Vegas, Nevada. However the hat was in rough shape for such an incredible piece of music history.

Well I am sure it was Ronnie's hat...but that doesn't erase the fact that the Moron who has it didn't take good care of it lol

I got to meet Ronnie @ an after party in Chico, Ca. after a gig @ Chico St. University where LS opened for Marshall Tucker in the spring of '74 and all I got was one memorable evening. I spent most of the party sittin' on a couch with Ronnie on my right and Tommy Caldwell on my left and a bottle of Beam's Choice goin' back n forth between us. The one thing that I remember Ronnie sayin' to Tommy was, next year....you'll be openin' for us! At that point I was worried the fur was about to fly so I headed for the door and this dude asked if I was headed downtown and would I mind givin' him a lift. It was Tucker's Jerry Eubanks and he assured me that Ronnie n Tommy were buds no matter how much smack they talked. Just one of those nights....I'll never forget.
