Hey yawl, anybody got the downlow on tour dates for Northern California this summer? My favorite venue that booked Skynyrd every summer, Konocti Harbor closed it's doors last Nov. and I need a fix this year.

Yes sad that Konocti is gone and no news yet on a reopening. It was owned by the San Francisco Plumbers Union and they were slushing funds into it to keep it afloat while trying their damndest to sell the place for about the past 7 years. It ended up costing the Union bosses their cushy jobs and the court case was the nail in the coffin of the resort. We referred to it dearly as the "Redneck Riviera", nothin' pretentious about the place and most of the people that frequented it. It was a wide open party place with some of the best bass fishin' around. They had 2 bass boats waitin' for the band everytime they played there and they used them a lot. Still searchin' the net for that yet to be announced tour date between Oregon & Smell-A.

Finally!!!!! Aug. 29th Sunday night Shoreline Ampitheater, Mountain View, Ca. This showed up on Pollstar, nothin' on the Shoreline site yet or ticket info, but I'm on it like a Dawg on a bone. Not one of my favorite venues, but I have seen the band there twice before and I'll do it again unless another show pops up in my neck of the woods.

May 27, still zippo on ticket info. Gotta get a decent seat this time, done the lawn and standing area, but just gittin' to old fer that. I wanna clean buzzzzzzzzz and a comfortable seat this time around. This venue is a parking nightmare we went in '87 for the reunion tour w/ Ros/Collins and it took as long to get outta the lot as the show took, no B.S. J Dawg |

I am with you re: seats. I am too old to fight the crowd in the GA seats. It used to be so much fun but as I get older, I prefer to have good seats with out a hassle. The last time we went to the Shoreline ( in the 90's) we did the Sports Page trick and parked there, which worked well. |

Finally got some info on this gig. It's a special event by KFOX 98.5 in San Jose called their "Summer Send Off". So far they have Skynyrd and Blue Oyster Cult billed, but are working on other acts to round out the line up and will be announcing details & ticket info in a couple of weeks. More to come. |
