From an interview last Sunday, Private Sessions, I heard from Gary Rossington that Ronnie VanZant was going to step down as the lead vocalist for Skynyrd due to some Nodes growth on his vocal cords?
Has anyone have any knowlege of this? He was going to Manage Skynyrd from what I can find out.

This was no secret. And Paul Rodgers would take his place at the lead(vocals).
Ah ! If ... If .. If ...

I have found a person who had Skynyrd at his wedding years ago(the original people) they all signed his guest book.He knows about Garys mishap with the white guitar neck getting warpped but was fixed. do you know Nathen Taylor? If we are talking about the same Paul Rogers he is best known for playing with Free, Bad Company and recently with Queen. He has also done solo stuff and worked on Blues projects with artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, BB King, Gary Moore and others.

Some lucky couple had L Skynyrd play their wedding!!!!!! Wow! I guess when some drunk "usher" yelled Freebird, (which always happens) the band actually played the song with true awesome-ness!!!!






PS I think Johnny is doing a mighty FINE job carrying the torch! ...and while we are on the subject .. .38 Special is nothing to shake a stick at either. I'd love to see a Van Zant tour.

Bad Company was one of my fav bands when I was a teen.

One of his best known songs with The Free (besides "Allright Now")
is "Wishing Well",
wich is covered by ... Rickey's Blackfoot .

Gives you a pretty good idea of his musical history
(has a very nice CD-cover, kinda Skynyrd-style).

I like the song Wishing Well too, and naturally everyone likes All right ! . But he had a lot of other hits too. Feel like makin'..., Can't get enough...Shooting Star!

But PR's bluesy stuff is pretty good too. I like Gary Moore alot and he teamed with PR on a Muddy Waters song that was ok. I think it was called "She Moves Me" . In my opinion, not either of their best work, but the two of them together was a nice tribute . Gary Moore is so under rated!

Just heard on the local radio that Johnny and Donnie might get back together as VanZant Country music. Does this mean a dispercing of two bands? 'Cause Ronnie did start both 38 Spec. and Skynyrd. Can you think of it Skynyrd playing without a VanZant at the mic? Theres talk around here that the Skynyrd name should be "retired" and The Rossington
Band play on with Dale at the mic. What do you think about that?

you imagine Skynyrd playing without a VanZant at the mic?" Sounded like Johnny & Donnie want to refire VanZant Country Style. That would be a lot of work for 2 guys in their mid fifties.But they want to uphold Ronnies dream.
