New Southern Rock Bands

Me , Rebel Pride, Preacherstone, HogJaw, and on the heavy side Southern GentleMan, wondering what else I is out there . Black Berry Smoke is agiven.

I've seen all with the exception of Preacherstone. Funny though it seems that the "new" stuff is coming from the Carolina's... I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

Just recently we have discovered The Casey Donahew Band from Texas. They are more country than Southern rock, but a great listen & you will laugh your ass off at some of the lyrics. We went to Chattanooga, TN a few weeks ago and caught a show. Great live band!!! Check them out......I especially like: --White Trash Story --Alabama Slammer --Hunter Thompson --Shine On Me --12 Gauge http://www.caseydonahewband.com Ain't nothing sweeter than a Southern girl!

Posts: 23 Member #: 23,995 Joined: 10/02/2009	Does anyone remember the Southern Rock band Pinkeye D’Gekko (PD’G)? They opened for Skynyrd a few times during the 2005-2006 tour. I saw PD’G open for the Marshall Tucker Band and Skynyrd in July 2005 in Gilford, NH and again when they opened for 38 Special and Skynyrd in Jan. 2006 in Worcester, MA. I thought PD’G was a really good Southern Rock band, but I don’t think they tour anymore. Below is a link with 2 of their songs. http://www.audiostreet.net/artist.aspx?artistid=19613

Anyways, I too was at both those shows when they (PDG) opened up for Skynyrd. I thought they were pretty good and at the Meadowbrook show someone was handing out a cd with a couple of there songs on it. And at the Worcester,MA when they were changing sets, one of the roadies tossed me one of PDG tamborine. And after the show I actually met the guys hanging out in the lobby and they signed the tamborine for me. So now it's sitting on my shelf having me think... "What happened to those guys"... So who know's... I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

At the Gilford show between sets, I talked to the lead singer of PD’G Steve Richards Mahoney. He was really nice and a huge Skynyrd fan. He signed my ticket for me. I have a few of their promotional CD’s too. I don’t know what happened to them, Skynyrd was the perfect band for PD’G to open for. I check Meadowbrook’s website daily hoping to see the words “Back by popular demand… Lynyrd Skynyrd,” but I don’t think they’re going to play there this year. As for where have I been hiding, I was studying for final exams. 4 years of college down (hopefully), 2 more years to go.

Can't wait to start getting the bills for it.... Then in two years I'll have TWO kids in college!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!! I better hit the lottery.... SOOOONNNN!!!!! Good luck and we'll catch ya later....
