Location: El Cajon, California Posts: 160 Member #: 25,474 Joined: 10/12/2009	We've just been made aware of exactly how serious Mike's illness is, and I would like to ask you all to send him positive thoughts and prayers. I just got off the phone with Deb who informed me that Thursday evening he had an episode where he had a suspected heart attack, quit breathing completely and actually flat-lined. The paramedics were able to revive him and took him off to the local hospital. After the battery of tests it has been determined that he indeed had a heart attack which caused damage to the top part of his heart. He'd had a prior attack which damaged the lower part, now with this new damage it becomes necessary to do an angiogram on Monday. The results of that will be either stents or open heart surgery. Deb is holding up well under the circumstances, but she wanted ya'll to know what was happening. Mike says he's "not a freebird just yet", so he's still holding his sense of humor. If you would like to send him a word or two of encouragement, I will copy them and get them to Deb to give to Mike. I'm sure he would enjoy hearing from his family...the Skynyrd Nation! What you do for yourself dies with you, but what you do for others can live on forever.

I did get a message through facebook about his status and wished him well... But needed to jump on here and also wish him a Get Well Soon.... It would be a nice surprise if mc would get a call from a member of the band to wish him a Get Well... Since we are SKYNYRD NATION!!! GET WELL OUR GOOD FRYND MIKE!!!! I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

I'm sure he will be back here shortly banging that gavel!! Ya can't keep a Skynyrd fan down for long! What you do for yourself dies with you, but what you do for others can live on forever.
