as i'm writing this my ears are still ringing. my girlfriend & i where at manchester apollo last night, front row in the center.what a great gig for a man who could claim a bus pass,Rickey was on the go the whole time & is 'mad as pants' ,the security guy was not amused with Rickey messing about. Johnny was given a USA beanie bear by a little girl(2 sisters dressed in stars & stripes outfits)he said thanks and carried on singing.a couple of songs later ,he gave the little girl the baseball cap he was wearing, later on he returned with another cap for the girls sister, the lads seem to care alot about their fans, young or old. the intro for simple man, supporting our troops went down very well with the crowd as did God & Guns.also using the union jack with the stars & bars on his mike stand went down well(might not go down well with the PC brigade, but who cares) thanks lads for a great time, enjoyed by all, young & old please come back soon |

Yeah and i was stood next to that little girl - she was well excited ! Spoke to her grandad ( he didn't look that old ! ) afterwards - he was well chuffed - said Johnny was a true gent, ensuring that both the girls were given a cap - nice one ! The band were awesome - the new songs fitted well in with the old - a Skynyrd Gig is a truly memorable occasion ! LONG LIVE SKYNYRD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....and the SKYNYRD NATION !!!! |
