I just went to a skynyrd show last week out here in california. Dont get me wrong.. AMAZING concert, i loved every second of it. Skynyrd fan til i die. But wouldent it be nice if skynyrd were to do a show and just break out all kinds of different songs that havent been played in years.?

- all i can do is write about it
- i need you
- same ol blues
- sweet little missy
-i never dreamed
- honky tonk night time man
- mean streets
-smokestake lightin
ETC....

it would be so amazing to hear those songs live.
trust me i love all the songs they played at the concert but i have heard them every time i go n see them just play the same stuff.
im just saying how alsome it would be to break out some songs that we never here for those die hard fans.
agreed???

The setlist will NEVER have a major change in it for as long as this band keeps touring. Too many estates and stockholders to support. They will keep pounding the commercial hits until no one shows up. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Skynyrd but once you see the current band once, there's really no reason to go back. I'm sure I'll be pounced on by a member of "Skynyrd Nation" but that's just my take on the current band.

Here is what is good about the current set list: you can bring a friend that has never seen them before and they will have great time because they know most of the songs.

Here is what is bad about the current set list: if you are a hard core fan, you will never hear the classic, obscure songs that we know are their best songs.

The one thing I don't understand is: The cruise is attended by the most loyal fans you will ever see. Why not change the set list for that event? Why do the same set? Is it because they don't want to rehearse songs or Johnnie cannot remember all the words? How exciting would it be to hear some rare stuff on the cruise?

Johnnie has said in interviews for many years about "An Evening with Lynyrd Skynyrd" They can do it in a few cities for a short period, smaller venues with limited equipment and crew. I would pay a premium to see it.

Well there is a lot of songs to remember ?
Where would ya start?
Its not easy as one thinks to sort out what to play in that respect
I say its up to them there the music makers and players if they want to play the whole 1991 cd song for song that would be kool by me if they want to play god n guns everysong ok by me if they want to play rossington collins songs and blackfoot train train and hi way song and dam yankees with a mike cartelone drum solo and elvis songs and merle haggered december and roll out da barrels chicken dance hoky poky wipe out man in black frees all right now or b company rock n roll fantasy and rudolph the red nosed rain derrs thats ok with me too .......

Thank You Lynyrd Skynyrd for the music!

I'm not complaining. I'm simply stating a fact. If you're not tired of hearing the same songs over and over in the exact same order at their shows then that's fine. Go out and support them. I find it hard to fork over $80 for the same hour and 20 minute show. I'd rather kick back and watch the Vicious Cycle dvd.

@ls-skynyrdrocks88: You are correct, that's why i missed them this year. I heard they were playing "All I can Do is write about it" but I have yet to see any sign of it on youtube. Another thing I don't get is the medley. That too has been very similar for many years. No excuse for that.

@ls-dagwoodblues: I completely agree with you. I will watch the same show over and over again if that is how I get to see them.

I've seen them three times this year and each show has been a little different.

The best thing or way to fix this would be if lynyrd skynyrd was to open up a lynyrd skynyrd show theatre in atlanta georgia not far from Airport & freeway with good hotels around and do weekly shows there and stop touring as much and let the folks travel to them kina like branson missouri where the entertainers got there theatres or like elvis played vegas

they could do vintage skynyrd week and modern sknyrd week and sell through this website travel concert pckages on this website and you could see them play with guest players and stuff and they could broadcast it on internet like the grand ole opery does And they would be a stteled down a little on te same stage able to do ALL there songs at different evenings and use orchestras and special guests ????

Thank You Lynyrd Skynyrd for the music!

wow and im sure everybody would just be able to spend thousand of dollars to go to atlanta and go see skynyrd do all the songs in a branson type theater....

train roll on im many miles from my home i just need to ride my blues away

Okay you Guys don't give them any ideas....they'll be opening a Lynyrd skynyrd dinner theatre in Branson.( If they DO, I'm Moving to Branson )-
Gee whiz.....Seriously, I think they may have archived different Songs for different reasons.Only they could say why Some are in ,and others are out.
They've batted around the "an evening with Lynyrd" idea for a long Time now. No opening act, just them.I would imagine that would be hard on the vocal chords ...maybe do a 10 date tour of it? It might not be something jvz could do every night on a full length tour, you know? a 3 or 4 hour show.. I have no problem with the set lists. the only thing I agree with is that they might want to change it for People on the Cruise. That seems reasonable.
