Live Free Bird Guitar Harmony Question

This is kind of an odd one, but what the heck:

A few years back I remember seeing the current line-up of Skynyrd(Johnny Van Zant on vocals) performing FREE BIRD on TV(it was probably VH1 but I'm not 100% sure). I'm not sure if was for the RnR Hall Of Fame or an awards show or benefit or tribute or what, but I distinctly remember one thing:

After the first verse of the song when it goes back to the slide guitar riff, instead of just the one guitar(Gary Rossington) playing it, there was a 2nd guitar playing slide as well doing the harmony of the original riff(I guess it was one of the other 2 guitarists in the band or a guest or something) & I just remember it sounding awesome.

Now, for some reason, years later I think it would be cool to hear again, so I go onto youtube, but I can't find one single live version of Free Bird where they do that!! Did I imagine it?? It seems bizarre that they would do this 2 part harmony one time & never again! It makes me think that maybe there were special guests involved or maybe Johnny & Gary were the guests for another band?? Hopefully some diehards can help me out & prove me right or wrong!

Thanks,

j

That version was played at the RRHOF induction ceremony. Ed King played the harmony notes on that second solo. I've always thought it added a nice extra kick to that solo.

The only problem with that performance is that it really needed to be remixed. The guitar volume levels were off, it seems (though, some people want to blame the players rather than the sound men).

(This one is from the night before at the Nokia Theater in NYC)

(And here's one from the actual show)

ahhh.. awesome! thanks for the info, I knew I didn't imagine it! The RnR HOF website has the first song they played at the induction online but not Free Bird, any idea where I can see/hear this performance online?
