Scoops Loco back on the scene!!!!

Now all right... I saw the video and you know who I am and what I love but....

This video is almost too cheesy and cliche... Really guys this is what you came up with a biker bar with a stripper pole?? Now do you want me to believe that Johnny, Gary and/or Rickey go to bars with stripper poles-n-stuff?? Now don't get me wrong... I'm like the next guy who loves to see the ladies running around and what not, but we're talking about Hall of Famers, Lynyrd Skynyrd... This you would expect from a Motley Crue video or something like that... Not the first video from Skynyrd, let alone the title track.. Unlike the last cd God & Guns, Still Unbroken, that was more of what they are... Not bikers building a bar... I was fine with the bikers on an open road the sites and stuff but come on...
Last of a Dyin' Breed should have stood for something and focused on past members and they ARE the Last of A Dyin' Breed...

So don't hate but there are other songs on the new cd they could have used this theme for...

I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

I envisioned a tour bus with trucks heading down a mountain two lane down grade with lightning going off around it with a face of image of jesus or ronnie and the freebirds shadowing the tour bus truck convoy and coyotes or wolves running along side or something and then quik pics of trucks bikes guns people hunting fishing the wild and baseball then the live shots of them playing or something but this??

I'm agreeing w/you both for many reasons. First the obvious - we didn't get to see enough of Skynyrd, let alone see enough Rickey for me!!! And pretty much all of what we saw was recycled.

Second - I kept waiting for the boys & gals to appear on a stage and sing one for the crowd - now that's the bar I'd hang out at all the time. I have to admit that when I saw the blue print plans that had room for a stripper pole, I did chuckle, but when they went there, I wasn't 100% on board either. Not the style of video we have become used to seeing.

Perhaps instead of a video like that - they need to release a DVD from the Gods & Guns tour!!

I'll still watch for some new "Scoops" for you all!!

Like I posted on WOW or maybe it was in my email to you Loco.

Skynyrd is Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke and Gary Rossington…and the rest of our great band. CLASS and STRENGTH….NOT Tommy Lee.

I love dive bars and open road bike rides, but I dont frequent places with stripper poles or with gals taking guys upstairs. Maybe thats just me…….Come on Skynyrd…

…... MOST OF ALL…….pulling down the FLAG? Really? Very disappointed in that….. OUR BAND, Especially Johnny who reveres the FLAG on stage wouldnt seem to go along with that….but yet, the video.
God and Guns was much more my speed.

Perhaps it is one of those "Management" decisions again!!

I was having a funky day when I watched the video (with the sound off cause others were on the phone), so I thought I would watch it again before judging the video. I was not a fan of the concept, didn't have the band in it, but like I said I was in a funk that day and thought it was just me.

I work in rock and roll and get the girls and the bikers and all of that, but, to me, it wasn't what I thought a Skynyrd video should be. A live video would have been a better choice.

And, no, I haven't watched it with the sound on yet. I decided to search YouTube for interviews and live clips from the past couple of months, there are a few of those popping up here and there. I will post the links this weekend.

Hey, if you're a dude, you should have no problem with the video.

...I don't. LOL

I'm a "dude" and have no problem with the whole lady's thing but we're talking about Skynyrd.. Hall of Famers... First video off the new cd... And this ain't them... And it doesn't represent Skynyrd Nation... Or at least the members I hang out with...

What the hell does a biker bar/stripper pole have to due with "Last of a Dyin' Breed"??? That's the point.. It should have focused more on the history.. How bands of there era are fading fast, so enjoy them while you can...

The video would have been more fitting for the song "Homegrown" (great song)... Now that's the song for bikers/stripper poles/ raisin' hell..

I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

Well, I'm not a dude. HA

What Medway said above is exactly right. and honestly, I'm disappointed.

Heres a video from some years back that is the Skynyrd I feel best represents, when Johnny speaks of the bands love of Country and their fans who could even be considered part of the "Last of the Dying Breed" (Blue Collar workers).

This is the view of the band I so love, with musicians who have persevered for many years.

It even has elements of the same theme, with a much more subtle and believable tone.

I know the new video was in good fun- --- as a long time supporter of many many many decades, I say meh.
