Johnny Van Zant's nephews release album

The nephews of Johnny and Donnie Van Zant, ("Lil Ronnie" Morris and Robbie Morris), have released their self-titled album SHANYTOWN (Spectra Records) on Amazon.com.

"Lil Ronnie" is the namesake of their late uncle Ronnie, who gave "Lil Ronnie" his first guitar as a child. Ronnie is lead vocal/guitar, and has been singing/ playing guitar since childhood. He helmed several local bands in Jacksonville before teaming with his brother Robbie and forming "ShanyTown" two years ago. "Lil Ronnie" brings the same charisma to the stage as his late Uncle Ronnie once did.

Robbie Morris played drums for Johnny ( Austin Nichols Band, Johnny Van Zant Band) for 15 years, starting his professional career as drummer at age fourteen. Robbie made 5 albums with Johnny (JVZ band), including "Brickyard Road".

Other members, Charles Moody (Bass), Duane Johnson (guitar), Kevin Williams (guitar) all have extensive careers in the industry.

The band is based in Jacksonville Florida.

@LynSkyn1981: Thank you for the compliment. The resemblance to Gary is almost spooky, and has been mentioned several times And we think Kevin also looks like John Lennon in many close-ups we have of him. He even sounds mildly British when he sings, lol!

Oh my goodness, I just dug out three of my old Johnny Van Zant Band albums (No More Dirty Deals, Round Two, and Van Zant-1985) and saw that Robbie Morris is the drummer on every one of them! Sorry guys, but I find these kind of things very interesting...I never knew the relation beforeThanks!
