I know Billy Crain posted on Facebook that the Outlaws had to "double" up there set once Skynyrd Canceled last nights show in Wisconsin ...

Hope JVZ is all right and get well SOON... But then again we have no info to go by so if anybody else has anything to add please do.....

JVZ had his appendix out a few years ago,so NO that is not it.
And I am SURE he will be fine.

Rock the Rapids
As many of you know, Johnny Van Zandt, lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd was hospitalized over the weekend due to complications from a previous surgery. Regrettably, organizers of the Rock the Rapids Music Festival have been officially notified that Johnny Van Zandt will not be able to perform tonight, Monday, August 8, as he continues treatment for infectious concerns.

Why is there a letter "D" in Van Zant? You'd THINK those Guys could at least look at an album Cover or something...lol

I hope Johnny is doing better. man I hate when these things happen. But then again it could happen to the best of us. I will send my prayers to Johnny to get well and get better the world's a better place with him and the rest of Skynryrd in it.

I'm sure we are all keeping Johnny in our prayers. Get well and continue on the Skynyrd/Van ZANT legacy! :o)

Somewhere I read that he is suffering from a severe staph infection. Pretty serious stuff

Just got back from vacation and found out about this today. This is the only info I have right now................

Johnny Van Zant, lead singer of the group Lynyrd Skynyrd, was hospitalized over the weekend due to complications from a previous surgery. Johnny Van Zant was admitted to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN on August 6, with a surgical site infected cellulitis which required hospitalization with IV antibiotic treatment. Van Zant has a severe Staph infection and multiple symptoms related to infection. Johnny Van Zant is to remain out of work and recover for at least one week or cleared by his primary doctor.

The following dates have been cancelled or re-scheduled:

-Clear Lake, WI at Firefest was August 6, is now re-scheduled for September 10
-Grand Rapids, MI at Rock the Rapids Music Festival on August, Skynyrd performance has been cancelled
-Sturgis, SD at Buffalo Chip on August 10, Skynyrd performance has been cancelled

For refunds, ticket holders should go back to point of purchase for refunds. Rescheduled shows will honor previously printed tickets.

Lynyrd Skynyrd plans to resume their regular tour schedule on Friday, August 12, in Sedalia, Missouri or as doctors advise.
