I HATE green day!!!!!!!!!

Um... Daze,

Billie Joe Armstrong IS from America. U2 isn't, but Billie Joe and Green Day are. They are specifically from Berkeley, California. California, specifically Berkeley, has always been a highly Democratic state and city (city being Berkeley). Berkeley is near Oakland.

So obviously since Billie Joe is a Democrat, he's going to oppose many of the things us Republicans like. But as an American citizen he has the right to voice his opinion.

I enjoy Green Day's music (as mentioned before, they are in my top favorites (obviously Skynyrd's #1, but still)). I don't judge a group based on their political stance. I judge them if I enjoy them or not. Take for instance...I can't stand Coldplay, Radiohead, Incubus, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Kenny G, Dave Koz, Justin Bieber...etc. but others may like them. I'm not going to slam someone just because their opinion on music differs from mine.

Now Billie Joe may have his own beliefs, some which I completely differ on, but that's not going to make me change my opinion on the band. Not only that, but Green Day's sound has really evolved. I love their newer sound (love the older sound too, but I think as I age, I'm starting to get into calmer music. LOL. I hate getting older...). Skynyrd will ALWAYS be my number one. (You should see my townhouse and car...lol)

I disagree with the notion that it's being disrespectful to us Republicans. I really feel that this country has become divided into Republican vs Democrat vs Green/Tea Party. Just because I'm Republican doesn't mean I'm going to end friendships with my Democratic friends. Or stop talking to family members who are Democrats. They are entitled to their beliefs, I am entitled to mine.

Simply put.

Armstrong and Bono are both Progressives, the new "Feel Good" name for Socialists. Niether are not worth the powder it would take to blow them up.

The lyric refers to the era Billie was born in and the hard times his family endured living in Rodeo, Ca. just across the river from Benicia, Ca. where I live. The refinery he refers to was Pacific Refining now Unocal. The elementary school Billie attended was closed and bulldozed after too many kids got sick over the years. Rodeo residents go to sleep in their crap homes listening to the hum of oil exec's gettin' fatter. If you think he's got a political agenda, you'd have to spend some time in Rodeo to wrap yer brain around it. As Lemmy of Motorhead says....EAT THE RICH!!!!

BTW, you got to go through hell before you get to heaven. Billie Joe's a multi millionaire and I applaud him for the way he dug his way outta the hand he was dealt. I really don't give a rats a$$ about their lifestyles, those punks can rock, not unlike my favorite band of AWWLLLL time Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I like Greenday a lot.
And I'm sorry , but I can't hate someone's Music based upon their lifestyle.
I'm not willing to get rid of my Elton John,David Bowie, or my Queen Lp's.Yeah, I said LP's lol
Nor am I willing to sit in judgement of them for what they do.It doesn't affect me.Just my 2 cents.

100% on point! I can't hate someone's music either based upon lifestyle, political stance, etc... RossingtonRules is on point when she states as such. I have a few Queen cd's, but I also have R.E.M. (Michael Stipe is gay). A few bands I listen to also like wise don't agree with my political stance. We are all human...we are all free to believe what we believe - to like what we like. So Green Day doesn't like Skynyrd. It is what it is. Let's all be happy in life...it's too short to worry about the small things.
