I am ashamed to say.....

I am ashamed to say that in my 16 years as a kindergarten teacher, I have never placed much emphasis on Verteran's Day. All I have ever done is to give a short explanation to my students and then just tell them that they get a day out of school.
Is it strange to say that the music from "God & Guns" has inspired me to make this a meaningful event for my students. I want to instill in them a pride for their country and it's roots that I am afraid is fading so fast from our nation.

I understand what you mean, Sara...

I did not serve in the military (I was in way too much trouble, and then almost lost my life in a car crash).

But when my boys joined, especially when my youngest was in NJROTC and we started attending the Veteran's Day ceremonies at his high school, and then when my youngest son's mentor was killed by an IED in Iraq.... well, suffice to say it served as a significant enough wake up call to understand a bit more what it is all about.

And Sara, as kindergarten teacher, you can do a lot to shape the moral compass of a lot of young lives, don't you think? What a tremendous opportunity!

Great posts and couldn't agree more! Funny how I'm the only one on my block that hangs "Old Glory" everyday! FYI for you both of you and everyone reading, if you go to the "Freedom Foundations" website, you can order your free pocket copy of the "Constitution" and our "Declaration Of Independence", I do not believe there is a limit, it's absolutey free, no shipping or anything, we "can" make a difference, I made sure my daughter & son in law order for our 3 grandkids, we as the average AMERICAN CITIZEN can teach our kids & grandkids too, and Sara, you know I'm a fan of yours, you go girl! Keep the Faith, and always Rock Suthyn! And a HUGE THANKS again to LYNYRD SKYNYRD for the great new CD and message.

IF I LEAVE HERE TOMORROW, WOULD YOU STILL REMEMBER ME?

Great to know there are at least a few patriotic teachers left in America. Most of them are left wing commie type who do all they can to undermine this country by indoctrinating left leaning robotic puppets who can't read or write but they sure feel great about it. I hope you are one of those teachers who gets to keep their job when the axes fall upon those liberal commies pretending to be teachers using our tax dollars to steal the minds of America's children. You go gyrl!
