I am a PROUD Mama!!

If you have children and you have shared the gift of "Skynyrd" with them....that's what's it's all about. My daughter has been raised on the sweet sounds of Skynyrd and she always amazes me by her ability to learn the lyrics to the "old" and the new songs very quickly. (She's 9 years old.)
Since the release of God & Guns, every time we get in the car she makes her request and it doesn't matter to me which one it is--because it's all so good! But tonight, as we were riding down the road with her cousin, it was just one of those special moments between two Skynyrd fans. She said, "Mom would you please play Floyd?" I told her "no problem". She then said that she wanted her cousin to hear the story of Floyd and how he outfoxed 'em.
That little moment was enough to make this southern Mom PROUD!!

I just have to tell ya Sara, that is a great moment, and a "blessed" one at that, and i get to enjoy my grandkids doin' that same thing! my daughter and son in law can ask them what shirt is grandpa wearing, they're 13,7, & 4, and they'll answer, "Lynyrd Skynyrd". Just makes ya feel proud! "Spread'n the Faith" on to another generation, to "rock suthyn"! Thanks for sharing!

I don't have kids of my own but a buddy of mine, who we've been best friends since high-school, has 6 kids... Anyways, like i said in another post, the last Skynyrd show i went too my buddy and me took his then 10 year old boy with us and he loved it!! Funny the boy's mother (buddies wife) was really worried about him goin to a rowdy concert like that, but i said trust me, you'll see kids younger then him at the show, it's a multi-generation show, his 6 year old duaghter was very disapointed that we couldn't take her lol, there's always next time! I got my buddies kids into Skynyrd, when ever i'm around i have to pick up the guitar and play Sweet Home for them, and now his 10 year old, who just turned 11, has a guitar of his own and is takin lessons, i have a feelin he's gonna be pretty good, maybe someday we'll start a Skynyrd tribute band!!

@prez. rusty: hope you're refering to the "Christmas Time Again" cd from 2000, if there's another one out, I'll have to seek it out! I'll never forget the day I bought that Christmas cd, my oldest grandaughter and I had to run last minute for more lights& I spotted that cd & just had to snag it, when we got home, and were listening to it, we came to the song "Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin'", and I was singing "grandpa wants some lovin'", and out of the mouth of babes, she sings, "Grandma wants Some Lovin"", we were dancin' fools that night! A time I'll cherish forever!

Love the Christmas CD. I play it every year when I have family and friends over during the Holidays....everyone just knows that I will play that CD instead of the "traditional" one. HA!
