Hello Skynyrd Nation frynds! I just found something that some of you may or may not be interested in...my mom's birthday is today and I got her a CD from a Mississippi blues artist by the name of Big Joe Shelton. We have discovered that we really like his music, and the reason I am writing this is because I am wondering if any of you have ever heard of him. "What in the world does this have to do with Skynyrd?" you might ask...well, i'll tell you. His bass player on his CD "Black Prairie Blues" is the very talented Ean Evans, who, in case you didn't know already, was with Skynyrd for several years. I don't know about you guys, but I love finding "Skynyrd related" bands, so I thought I would share this with those of you who might be interested.

Big Joe's the real deal...I just got his new record from CD Baby, "The Older I get The Better I was", and it rocks.

Oh I haven't heard the new one, didn't know it was out yet. Cool, I'll have to go listen to it...When we ordered our copy of "Black Prairie Blues" from his website, he had a sticky note attached to it with a message thanking us for our support, and he also mentioned that he would have a new album out soon, so this must be the one that he was talking about. I thought it was very nice of him to personally thank us like that...it just goes to show that he really appreciates his fans' supportHave you heard his first album yet?

I met him at the MKF, super nice guy! If you want to listen to music that helped form the Skynyrd sound check him out. Pure Delta Blues!
