GOD & GUNS!!! What an awsome collection of songs on one CD. I am still listening to it like I had just heard it for the first time yesterday. Many times when you get a CD, you end up skipping through it playing your favorite songs. Not this one, I just put it in and let it play. That alone says something. I do want to say something about the song GOD & GUNS............., Thank You. I am retired Army, Desert Storm vet, hunter and RESPONSIBLE gun owner. The song GOD & GUNS not only sounds great, but the words are dead on. I heard on Private Sessions the use of the word "Controversial" when talking about the song GOD & GUNS. Well let me just say controversial my ASS. It's because of cetain politicians and others in positions of influence whom had no life growing up and are so out of touch with the (if you will) common folk that we even use the word controversial for such topics. Imagine how different our society might be if we still had the "Pledge a Allegiance" (with the word GOD) still in our schools. From one "Working Man" to another, Thank You. From a soldier, Thank you for your patriotism and caring. |

I am a newbie to Skynyrd music! I am driving my boyfriend nuts. He loves Skynyrd, but I play it all the time. Recently we attended Moondance Jam in Minnesota. As I was speaking with the record breaking crowd, I was amazed to hear that no one had heard the new album! What the hell! I understand that the die hard fans feel that it is not the same, but to me, it is (I am having a hard time finding the words) excellent, awesome. I think it is a true reflection of our times in the here and now! I thank Skynyrd for having the small hard working people in their hearts and souls.

I Hear ya DarlaJean. There are a lot of Skynyrd fans who do not know because maybe thay don't go to the Website from time to time, or, not at all. So they do not know. I am sure there are some individuals out there that would become Skynyrd if they just heard the songs. Hey, like you said, you're a newbie. Radio stations are not always reliable putting out that type of information or sometimes even playing new stuff on a regular basis either. But for those of us that do know, we can spread the word, and call the radio stations to get them to play it more. This is a AWESOME CD and should be heard by as many people as possible. Hell, I just bought one as a thank you gift for someone. ROCK-ON my friend!!!!!! |

They ought to start blaring God & Guns at Ground Zero. My leg tingles every time I hear that song and I get all excited-like. Skynyrd Forever, Forever Skynyrd!
