The new Album is great and I like God and Guns both for the music and the lyrics. The change in pace of music is great and to me it shows the band have moved on as most people do over 30 years and progress, howver its also fine for them to write about their basic beliefs and that is they enjoy hunting and protection in their own homes.

Picked it up on 9/29/09 the release date. Got the 2 CD Limited Edition Set!Gave it a good listen. It is obvious they recorded this album without Billy Powell (RIP). Most all previous Skynyrd songs have great guitar solo’s, good lyrics, and keyboard solo’s by BP. Unfortunately, most of the songs on this album are missing the keyboard solo’s of BP. Peter Keys must have joined the band after most of the songs on this album were recorded. The songs have a bit more country tune than what I was used to from Skynyrd, but none the less very good stuff. You won’t be disappointed Skynyrd fans! Gifted Hands and God and Guns show Skynyrd is alive and well!!!. Saw them at the MN State Fair, they played "Skynyrd Nation", they were awesome!

Man...you gotta listen to the new record again...God & Guns makes absolute sense...listen to the lyrics...and watch the podcasts... the guys exp. the songs, lyrics etc. We're all entitled to our opinions but...geez...you are in the Skynyrd Nation...I'd watch my words...there's plenty of other places you could visit...how about China? Maybe Africa? This may not be the right place for you...

=LynSkyn1981 said:@LittleBrownJug: maybe you should return your copy and get your money back... No I won´t. If I only could get my favorite band back. Honest: I´m spoiled by RVZ´s LYNYRD SKYNYRD. And I´m happy that Gary´s band is still touring and playing the old fantastic tunes. But the remaining LS sound of the new band has passed with Billy Powell. |

@LynSkyn1981: I am still floored from reading some of these posts! I can't believe that some would come on a FAN CLUB site and spew venom. Why are so many of the die-hard fans having to defend Skynyrd's new music?????? If this album and the Skynyrd era we are in now bothers some of these people so much, then why don't they find a new band to follow. All I can hope is that the current members don't read some of the postings. To me, the new album reflects the heart and soul of the band. Ain't nothing sweeter than a Southern girl! |

Way to go boys! God & Guns is awesome. After anxiously awaiting my pre-ordered copy it arrived yesterday and I haven't stopped playing it since. I'm proud to be a member of the Skynyrd Nation! dollyj |
