Dan, what's you point???

Did you actually list to the song God & Guns??

It talks about you right to bear arms...

There not sayin' everybody needs to pack heat, but it your right...

If you don't like Skynyrd, 'cause that's who they are... Then move on....

There are many references in this cd that pays respect to the fallen brothers...

What about the song "Gifted Hands"??? If you don't shed a tear for there/our fallen brother BP, then you ain't a fan....

I'm not dead, at least not yet, Still Alone, Still Alive, STILL UNBROKEN....

=Dan Hafstrom said:I've been a Skynyrd fan all my life. I've respected the post-crash band as a celebration of what once was and a nice line of work for the boys involved, but the new record is just stupid. God and Guns? If you wanna write songs like that, please do, but don't call yourself Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie sure was proud of his origins but he was not a stupid redneck. Remember a song called "Saturday Night Special"? Well if u don't here's the lyrics for it.

Two feets they come a creepin
Like a black cat do
And two bodies are lyin naked
Creeper think he got nothin to lose
So he creeps into this house, yeah
And unlocks the door
And while a man reaching for his trousers
Shoots him full of .38 holes

(chorus)
Its a saturday night special
Got a barrel thats blue and cold
Aint no good for nothin
But put a man six feet in a hole

Big jims been drinkin whiskey
And playing poker on a losin night
Pretty soon, big jim starts a thinkin
Somebody been cheatin and lyin
So big jim commences to fightin
I wouldnt tell you no lie
And big jim done grab his pistol
Shot his friend right between the eyes

(chorus)

Hand guns are made for killin
Aint no good for nothin else
And if you like your whiskey
You might even shoot yourself
So why dont we dump em people
To the bottom of the sea
Before some fool come around here
Wanna shoot either you or me

And your point? One song is anti hand gun the other is about not losing rights granted us in the constitution. Johnie likes to fish and hunt. . .. .last I checked you don't hunt with a 38. . . . .ya ever see the pic of ronnie holding a gun to someones's head? They all carried back in the day. . . even Ed had a gun. . . .

I got my copy today and I am SO PROUD to call myself a member of Skynyrd Nation!! The lyrics are amazing and I can only imagine the healing journey that the band was on while writing some of these songs. My personal goal is to wear this CD out until I know all of the words (I have a bet with my 9 year old daughter about who will know all of the lyrics 1st!)
BTW......can someone please take out the trash and get rid of the negativity from the idiot? Can't we all get along and appreciate what we have? I don't know about you, but my cup runneth over--it's not half empty. Sara

i know people may agree w/ you or disagree...but i for one agree..don't get me wrong. i got the cd today, and I love it...some of the best guitar work they've done in years...however, to me skynyrd was always about people getting along, and friendship, peace, and love...but this cd, at times, seems to be a little more angry than other Skynyrd cds...trust me, i have been a fan of skynyd ever since i can remember, and i'm 45...but listening to this cd, at times, i cringed at the words.

one more thing...after reading a bunch of your repsonses, how america is it to jump all over this guy for having an oppinion different than yours? I am anti-gun..that's just my view..however i also believe everyone of you have the right to not agree w/ me....it's the way it is suppose to be.
