Ed King did not get along with Ronnie and never could talk face to face with Ronnie VanZant didn't have the guts, PLUS, he quit the band by being a chicken by leaving in the middle of the night, Again no guts.Maybe a good guitarist and lyrists' But never a leader like Gary Rossington.

Ed Kings a great bass player im guessing and a great guitar player for sure Lynyrd Skynyrd would have never allowed a gun decker in the band im sure of that and from what i know he had lots of input into Lynyrd Skynyrd songs and a lot of the songs hes on are great tunes he kicks major guitar on many tunes I love that live video of the song last rebel and ed king is playing this slide with full bore out put guitar taking emotion doing that great slide guitar. here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz-BQxkvVSo Ed King can Play and make great music other wise he never would have been allowed to play in skynyrd Why would Lynyrd Skynyrd invite somone to be a part of the band that dont talk or has no talent? Ed King Also he was in a world known band beforeLynyrd skynyrd with hit songs a band called Strawberry Alarm clock incense and peppermints So he was around on tours playing major gigs and television before skynyrd he Was well experienced .
