Is this the last recording (video or sound) on the original skynyrd?
Isn't the Asbury Park video from 13th July 1977?

Yes, this would be the last know audio-visual concert recording of Lynyrd Skynyrd - technically.

This one looks to be a full concert, given that all of the Street Survivors songs + Gimme Three Steps have been released in audio on the special edition of Street Survivors.

But, the so-called "Pepsi Special" was filmed in Alameda (I think) a few days later. If the master reels of 35mm Eastman film and the (I assume) soundboard master can be found from the concert itself, that would be the last known recording.

However - there have been rumors for years of a board recording of one of the first 3 "Tour of the Survivors" tour. Unfortunately, I've only ever heard of people who might have it, or know of someone who "knows a guy." But, there's never been anything firm on that. It could just simply be wishful thinking on many levels.

@roadfatigue: the full footage of the concert itself? Or the edited 15 feature that was played before showings of "Grease" in '78?

Man that's some good stuff right there, Thanks for sharing it! Just think what we all lost that night that plane went down. Can you imagine what great music they would have made in the 33 years since then!

@roadfatigue: sounds like that guy has a quite impressive collection. I have to wonder how stuff like this gets to traders, or rather, how it takes so long for it to get out into open circulation?

Back in the late 80's and early 90's any Skynyrd video found was a treasure. First is was Pepsi tribute then 1975 San Francisco, 1976 San Francisco, 1974 Germany, Old Grey Whistle and Knebworth. More recently it was Asbury Park. Wow, just knowing there is more out there is exciting. I wonder if there is a full length video of A Day On The Green or Anaheim

@LynSkyn1981: In 1988 Skynyrd played The Ritz in NYC. It was live on the radio (WNEW 102.7) and it sounded great. It was a small place, kinda like what they did as the Curtis Loew Band back then. I remember there being cameras recording the concert. Can you check that out?
