Concert Cancellation

Ok, so Skynyrd is my favorite band, which is saying something because i'm a 15 year old girl, and my dad bought my family tickets to the Toledo, OH concert on October 15th. I was soo excited, i had all the days counted down and everything. Yesterday, my dad came home and said that he heard on the radio that the concert was cancelled! I was in shock and sad and angry.

Today, he came home and said that it was cancelled because they had only sold 1600 tickets out of 8000. I was very angry at this, because it was the band that cancelled. It wasn't the arena, it was the band.

I just wanted to say, to the band, that its not about the money, or how many tickets you sell, its about the music. Its about the way you make the fans feel when you sing Free Bird, or Sweet Home Alabama, or even Curtis Loew. I'm very disappointed, this was supposed to be my first concert, seeing my favorite band. I just wanted to say to the band, i'm really dissapointed, i thought you knew it was about the music, not the money.

It was NOT!!!!! due to scheduling conflicts. I won tickets on a radio station (the coolest thing i ever won) and have been wanting to see them for years. I'm as bummed at the news of the canceling of the show and have to agree with the 13yr old. I was told by the radio station my tickets were junk and the promoter canceled the show. I'm disapointed that skynyrd just should have lived up to they're reputation and say no to the white collers and play the music. When the start playing it wouldn't have mattered how many peolpe came and it wouldn't have been arena.

Mollie, I'm soooo sorry to hear that your concert was cancelled (for whatever reason short of death or sickness). Same thing happend to me about 5 years ago. My husband and I had tickets to see them at Duquoin State Fair, and they cancelled (said 1 of the band members was sick). I was so disappointed, but if they were telling the truth, I fully understand.

On the other hand, if LS is caught up in a bad management deal, and are cancelling because they are not filling the arenas to capacity, then that really angers me. I have tickets to an upcoming concert in Nov. and I would be devastated if they cancelled.

C'mon guys, if your gonna rock this nation, then do it!!!!!!
