nah...300am....I'm back to try and put to words..what sometimes cannot be said but must be felt...as my Voice is ..gone....i can see by the previous messages you ALL got some pics...whooo yahhhhhh.....I'm here to give testimony to the power of SKYNYRD NATION....and our new found FRYNDYSHYPS......Wow...so my rise to wickeys was an hour late..i get there @ 900 the band was already Kickin it in...I search for Wickey to give him a Full sized #88 JR Nascar flag for the Saloon wall..takes me 10 mins to find him...whoa..the place was packed and jumping most of the time...picture a Nice Rustic place in your small town..simple people getting together to celebrate Good Times...The songs..without a doubt were crisp kickin and done as if they were blessed with the spirit of the night....Double trouble....Saturday night special...that smell..whew..the list,Got my own copy..was as impressive as any band I'd ever heard....Wickey had a smile on his face whther he was sitting up front VIP area..or walkign around meetin and grretin..I'm talking with medway simpleman..and just enjoying 3 steps and the rest of the 2nd set...then a break and go introduce myself to JOE.....in All my life a nice man you could not meet.! Joe played them basses with a fever few could match..becuase his 3o some odd hats,changed between songss add his own special touch to his style....the two lead guitarists...Dueled on so many songs i lost track...and the Drummer was pounding the skins as if he was on a misson ...his timing and fills for the hours and hours they played was timeless....no finer group of musicians could be found tonight.!
To try and put to words how much this meant to me personally islike a rock that lands in a lake and makes rings...and those rings make more rings....the night we thought was gonna end with.....What song do you Want to hear...?
and as the first notes of Freebird were played everyone rose..and gathered with loved ones..me personally..I took my hat off and cried.....thinking of..Ronnie,STEVE,Cassie,Billy Powel,Artimus...and Hughie...and Allen....whew.......the crowd cheered the song with it's slow melodic opening and chords that play to your Soul....was played to a growing roar of the crowd.....as the instrumental began the guitarists looked at each other and went for it...they jammed ..feeding off the crowd..and each other..through the air whafted sounds of cheers and screams of joy and notes that would've made and Skynyrd Nation fan proud..it was so hot..the guy in the front row was heating his hands from the glow of the rifts......and then...........to a standing applauding and Grateful simpleman crowd..it was over....or so we thought....HUh.?.....the band not wanting to leave..the fans yelling for more...1200am...I nudged one of the owners to tell them they could play more...he goes upstage and ok's it...I mention they shoudl play a good dance type tune..and sure enough....they get the amps a going and drumand bass a kick and fire that stage and crowd up with......
..............SWEEt Home Alabama and the isles were alive with throngs of couples wanting more of a Good Tyme...and the band wasn't Shy...giving the people a beat and tempo that just got yer feet a movin..with the vocals even done by a few that the lead man allowed to help finish it off........whew done yet..nah....play more play more we yelled...and after a min...into the finale and...that completed one of the best nights of southern rock ever done...I'd asked Joe and Wickey and Medwaysimpleman to take some pics after the show..and,not sure what they look like, but standing with my new found SKYNYRD Nation bros'....makes me feel right at Home.!
Thanks Wickey...Medwaysimpleman..and JOE Z,man of a thousand hats,bassman.....for a night that this guy won't forget.!We got plans fer the july 1st SKYNYRD show so we'll see Ya'll then....and to all the others..here....WOW.!!!!

Partial Good Mornin to you all…. ( I’m going back to catch some more ZZZZZZzzzz’s very shortly) But Brother Wickey’s , “The Simple Man Saloon” was SOOOO BLESSED last night that I had chills even though this Ol Boy was sweating his a$$ off doin his thang!

I knew it was gonna be a truly special nite as soon as I arrived with Jan and saw a Banner So Dear and Near to the Hearts of all in Skynyrd Nation flying proudly …”Fly on Proud Bird You’re Free At Last”. Yup Brother McSkynyrd sent that gift to Brother Wickey as a Special Send off Gift of The Simple Man Saloon and let me tell ya all … IT WAS A GIFT THAT WILL KEEP ON GIVING! The band’s lights had that banner glowing and pulsing like it had a life of it’s own and I swear that is true!

It was really great to meet up with Wickey, Medway Simpleman, Swamp Fox and all the new Frynds and Ol frynds from the past as well. I thought of all the others out in Skynyrd Nation that was there in spirit and I know that added to the energy that was there for Brother Wickey … What a send off he got!

Swamp Fox … that was quite an awesome report, wow… ! I mean wow !

And Medway ….. I can’t say enough good about your soul and love for Skynyrd… ! Thanks for being my Frynd !

As soon as I regain consciousness later I’ll try to get some pics out.

The only thing that would that would make this a very special protected ‘Historical Skynyrd Nation Landmark’ would be to have “The Curtis Lowe Band” perform at The Simple Man Saloon. Someone let me know if they do! I heard this elusive band is the BEST thing to Skynyrd out there hands down ;-)

Thanks everyone for making last night such a success. Whether you were there in person or in spirit your presence was felt. Joe Z and his bandmates did not disappoint. Having lived down south for a good number of years, I've had the chance to see several Skynyrd/Southern Rock tribute bands. Southern Breeze was by far the best. It was a special sight to see as they played Freebird with McSkynyrd's "If I Leave Here Tomorrow" banner hanging over their heads. It was a great night with very special frynds. Thanks again to all for your well wishes.

@Wickey: wooohooo! sooo happy for ya Brother............... we here on tha boards were a followin' along with our setlists....... as i'm sure ya read on the prior pages here.............. yup............ i'd be fer sayin' we were with'n ya'lls in "spirit"! ................. and a havin' a great time with ya'll!............ again Jon.........
