Bob Burns

As most of you probably know, Bob recently lost his beloved Wife Marsha after a prolonged illness. On top of the sadness of loss, that kind of thing can also be devastatingly expensive.

Last Friday, Spartenburg area nonprofit "Hearts of the South" hosted a benefit concert at the Cellar Club.

Bob headed the list of performers for the show, which was promoted as “One for Marsha.” Charlotte, N.C.-based country-rock outfit Preacher Stone and roots rocker Chuck Johnson performed, along with Michael Buffalo Smith, the Roebuck Rhythm Section, Dennis Solesbee, Abby Leigh and Terry Gage.

The event was well attended. If anyone would like to make a donation to Bob, Roxanne Lark and Michael Buffalo Smith (some here may already know Michael) have a wonderful charity organization called "Heart of the South" That is the organization that put on the show They created it specifically to help with medical costs and such for those that may need it. There is a mission statement on their FB page in the "about" section.

Roxanne said to tell you all if you want to make a donation directly to Bob, - there is a link to the paypal for Hearts of the South on the left side of the page - you can donate this way and if you put "Bob Burns" in the comment spot then those monies will be forwarded (100%) to Bob.

I love Bob's work on the early albums, some of the ALL-TIME best stuff from the band.

Read your post the day you posted it. I dont have the means to help monetarily but have had Bob and his family in my prayers. I was getting ready to ask what ever happened to Bob with all the talk on the board about new memembers. You friend in southern rock Leonard_50

I totally understand that. But there are over 41,000 registered users of this forum. If everyone gave just $5, less than the cost of a sandwich, that would be over $200,000 to help out a music legend. That's all I'm saying. C'mon people, lets step up.
